Two University of Kentucky equine students have received the initial internships at a Florida horse racing track provided through a collaboration between The Stronach Group horse racing company 1/ST and the Ed Brown Society. The society was created to promote and educate the public about valuable Black contributions to the industry.
“We are today’s University of Kentucky because of the remarkable Black alumni who pushed open our doors and paved a path for those who would follow," Capilouto said. "I am excited to see our community carry on this legacy and come together to celebrate Black History Month.”
