Senior Subaward Administrator, Office of Sponsored Projects Administration

Courtney Chafin (she/her) is a Senior Research Administrator in the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration who has 7 year’s experience in Research Administration. Courtney specializes in Subaward Administration and is responsible for acting as the liaison for the University of Kentucky Research Foundation and UKRF’s Federal Sponsors. As the liaison between the Federal Sponsors, Courtney has participated in various working groups to help facilitate and streamline funding while reducing the administrative burden for the university. Courtney completed the Certificate for Research Administration in November of 2020.  Courtney has served as a Staff Senator on the University of Kentucky’s Staff Senate for 2 years and will serve as the Vice Chair for the Staff Senate in the FY2021-FY2022 year. During her time as a Staff Senator she has served on the Elections and Professional Development Committees. While serving on the Professional Development Committee she held the position as Chair. Courtney has volunteered in various Special Events sponsored by Staff Senate such as the Employee Appreciation Day, Employee Excellence Awards, Make A Wish Foundation and Conversations with the President. Courtney currently serves as the Staff Advocate on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leadership Team.
