Andrew M. Smith
Assistant Provost for Student Well-Being; Interim Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary Services
Dr. Andrew M. Smith (he/him) currently serves the University of Kentucky as the Assistant Provost for Student Well-Being, but is currently posted as the Interim Assistant Vice President for Auxiliary Services. He has 18 years of professional experience in higher education ranging in fields that include recruitment, conduct, diversity, and well-being. After a year as a cadet in the United States Military Academy at West Point, Andrew transferred to Centre College where he graduated with a B.A. in Government. He then earned a master's degree in Public Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and ultimately a doctorate (Ed.D.) in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation from the University of Kentucky.
DEI Campus Plan
Dr. Smith currently serves as co-lead for the DEI Campus Plan initiative. The campus plan will include a vision for transforming the campus over time to create a more inclusive, equitable and barrier-free environment where everyone feels safe and supported.
