Step into Homecoming weekend at the NPHC Step Show

The 2023 National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Step Show is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in the Gatton Student Center ballrooms. Tickets purchased ahead of time will be $10 for students and $15 for general admission. The day of the event, student tickets will be $15 and general public will be $20. UK Dance presents Project ChArma for week of African, modern dance master classes

The University of Kentucky Department of Theatre and Dance welcomed guest choreographers Mariama “Ama” Law and Chris Law of Project ChArma to campus through Oct. 13 for a series of master classes with UK dance students, as well as an African Dance Class open to all university students 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in Room 117 of the Fine Arts Building.  

Award-winning summer: UK senior named Astronaut Scholar, DAAD RISE intern

It has been an award-winning summer for one University of Kentucky senior — Isha Chauhan. The biology and Lewis Honors College student from La Grange, Kentucky, was named one of the country’s 68 prestigious Astronaut Scholarship recipients and completed a DAAD RISE research internship in Germany.

UK presents 'Cafecito con Chavez: An Evening with Eduardo Chavez'

The University of Kentucky Martin Luther King (MLK) Center, Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Lewis Honors College, College of Arts and Sciences, and Department of Hispanic Studies are hosting “Cafecito con Chavez: An Evening with Eduardo Chavez.”  The event will take place in the Gatton Student Center’s Harris Ballroom from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5. 

UK HDI celebrates disability representation with stock photo project

Having meetings. Studying for class. Enjoying the outdoors. All are common interactions often depicted in stock photos featured on websites, social media, news releases and more.  A team of staff at the University of Kentucky’s Human Development Institute (HDI) has created a photo library that represents Kentuckians of all kinds.

2023 Inclusive Excellence Student Program grant window opens Oct. 1

The University of Kentucky Office for Institutional Diversity is accepting proposals for the next round of grant funding through the office's Inclusive Excellence Student Program grants. Proposals for this round will be accepted from Oct. 1-31, 2023. Selected proposals will be awarded funding for the Spring 2024 semester.

UK’s CHET awards pilot grants to further research on health disparities
