The University of Kentucky Women’s Forum kicks off another year of professional development activities and programs in September that are open to the campus community. This month, the Women’s Forum is hosting two events that are designed to promote wellness and initiate conversations among attendees.

From noon-1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, Jakob Hester will present “How HR Supports Employee Work-Life & Well-Being." Hester is a wellness specialist with UK Human Resources Health and Wellness. In this presentation, Hester will cover work-life and well-being benefits and resources available to UK employees, including support for mental health, personal resilience, nutrition, physical activity, flexible work, caregiving and personal finance. The hybrid program will occur in-person in Room 299 Gatton College of Business and Economics and on Zoom. Lunch is provided for in-person attendees. There is no cost to attend, but all attendees must register here.

The UK Women’s Forum’s first Coffee & Connect event for the 2021-22 academic year is 9-10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24. We will have a virtual conversation over coffee from the comfort of our desks (wherever they might be). Coffee & Connect began last fall as a way to connect with one another in a safe space for meaningful conversation. This hour of thoughtful discussion typically follows the theme of our monthly professional development, and we invite guest speakers to enhance the conversation. Register for this virtual event here.   Please visit the UK Women’s Forum website for more details about this event and future signature events, including monthly professional development sessions and the annual conference.
