On behalf of Dr. Anthony Carney, Dr. Hartley Feld, Professor Megan Walden, and current UK nursing students, the University of Kentucky College of Nursing is proud to announce the launch of a new student internship enrichment opportunity called the Health Equity Scholars program.

Who should apply?

UK nursing students interested in learning about and improving the health equity of underserved populations.

About the program

The program is one-credit hour with a typical internship enrichment commitment of three semesters. In this new program, students will work together with other students who pick the same focus and will participate in shared education experiences with the other groups throughout the semester. There are three areas of focus within the program: racial and ethnic justice, LGBTQ + health, and global and rural health.  Shared educational experiences will decided by each group and can include books, podcasts, films, etc. Students who successfully complete a community advocacy project will be recognized at Pinning.
